Tottenham Hotspur against Queens Park Rangers

SWP and Adebayor collapse in a heap - big man v little man.

The game is rather winding down now, but Friedel has to be alert to get to a Barton ball before SWP.

Faurlin bangs his effort a yard over the crossbar.

Modric trips Helguson and QPR have a free kick 25 yards out. A sniff perhaps?

QPR's fans are subdued now after the goal. Spurs deserved it for their first half dominance you have to say.

Walker is down after an aerial challenge with Mackie. He landed right on his hip. Nasty.

Now Adebayor is flagged offside charging on to Modric's pass.

Adebayor seems destined not to score today. Another neat move from Spurs presents him with a chance 12 yards out but he drags it wide of the post.

That could knock the stuffing out of Rangers, who have made a good fist of it this half. A superb finish from Bale.

What a lovely goal. Neat interchange of passing between Lennon and Bale, allowing the winger to curl his shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. Game over. Again.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> A Bale beauty!

Ferdinand intervenes as VDV tries to slip a ball in for Adebayor.

Spurs take the corner short, Assou-Ekotto shoots and Kenny parries, then Lennon crosses and Ledley King can't get his header on target.

QPR are giving Tottenham far less time on the ball and it is paying dividends, though Spurs win a corner now.

Now an awful touch from Parker hands QPR a needless corner.

Great strike from Faurlin and a fine save from Friedel low down. We do have a game on now!

Kenny drops a long free kick from VDV, Adebayor nicks it back for Bale but the 'keeper is back in position to parry his goal-bound drive.

The Rangers fans, who have been excellent all afternoon, now have reward for their efforts.

Helguson nods a corner to the near post and Bothroyd gets up to nod it home from two yards out. Different game now.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Bothroyd pulls one back!

Faurlin wins a corner as QPR continue to improve. Parker is lucky not to be booked for a late clip on Young.

Nice run from Bale as Assou-Ekotto finds him, the cross comes in but it is behind VDV and his back heel dribbles free for Kenny to claim.

More good work from SWP in barging Lennon off the ball and striking on goal but Kaboul blocks the shot.

Excellent from SWP as he keeps in a long ball, he rolls it back for Helguson who lets the ball come to him meaning Modric gets back to divert his shot behind.

Barton is robbed by Modric and he sends Adebayor through one-on-one with Gabbidon but the defender sticks to his task well and blocks the eventual shot.

Mackie has given QPR some energy without doubt - he harries and hustles Assou-Ekotto and wins a corner.

Bothroyd has a go on goal but gets it all wrong.

A rousing ovation for Parker as he tracks Mackie back into his own half and wins the ball.

As I say that Kenny pulls off a marvellous flying stop to keep out Van der Vaart's fizzing effort.

QPR have been brighter since the break - the least they can do is try and get tighter to Spurs.

Can that double change spark QPR into life? What with the first half injury to Fitz Hall they have now used all their substitutions.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Double change for QPR: Taraabt and Derry go off, Jay Bothroyd and Jamie Mackie come on.

<b>HALF TIME</b> A half that QPR will quickly want to forget. Spurs cruising and should be more than two ahead. Virtually nothing from QPR in an attacking sense. Hard to know what can turn this around for them.

Derry lifts a ball over the top for Wright-Phillips but he had strayed offside.

Lennon and Adebayor try an ambitious one-two and QPR have a goal kick.

Spurs enjoying possession as we close in on half time.

Adebayor is close to making it three as Walker pinches possession in midfield. He goes for the far post but is narrowly off. All came from Taraabt's corner which didn't even bounce inside the penalty area. He's been awful.

Modric perhaps should have made it three, Spurs work the ball wide to Assou-Ekotto, Modric kills his cross dead but pokes his shot wide from 14 yards.

Half time can't come quick enough for Rangers. Change of approach needed.

VDV takes the corner and pulls it back to Modric, who chests it down and volleys a yard wide of the far post with his left foot. Special player.

Tottenham win a corner as Walker marauds down the right.

Lennon nearly gets on the end of a Bale pass. QPR can't cope.

The replay shows Van der Vaart was onside as King had his shot - the deflection was off a QPR player too. Game over?

Ledley King's long shot is deflected into VDV's path, he controls nicely before sending Kenny the wrong way with his shot.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Van der Vaart makes it two!

Taraabt knocks an aimless ball out of play. He's been very quiet so far.

Good work from Walker, tackling Traore swiftly.

QPR are getting pummelled here - they can't cope with Modric or Bale at all.

In mitigation, Bale was off balance and the ball did come at him quickly.

Bale should have made it two! Adebayor gets past Ferdinand and crosses but no-one has gambled in the six yard box. Assou-Ekotto is at the back post though and fires it back in where Bale prods over from six yards.

Very little penetration up front for QPR so far. Helguson getting no change from King or Kaboul.

A strange passage of play as Parker wins the ball and Spurs have three on two but he is tackled by Gabbidon, and claims a foul before QPR bring the ball away.

Lovely football again from Spurs as Bale chests off to VDV but his right footed effort is bobbly and Kenny claims comfortably.

A big test for QPR now.

Nicely worked by Spurs and intelligent running from Lennon to draw QPR's defence out of shape and create the space.

A long punt is flicked on by Adebayor, VDV then finds Lennon running in from the right and he lays off to Bale in space to finish emphatically.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Bale opens the scoring!

Taraabt's first-time effort is diverted towards goal by Helguson but it was always too high to trouble Friedel.

Great ball in from Barton and an equally good clearing header from Kaboul.

Assou-Ekotto fouls Barton now and QPR have a free kick wide on the right.

Great move from Spurs, Adebayor releases Bale and then charges for the return but can't connect with the cross.

Adebayor has not a great couple of minutes after that miss - giving the ball away cheaply twice.

Superb ball in from VDV and Adebayor has nodded wide from six yards out. What a chance.

Now Barton fouls Bale and Spurs have a free kick.

Joey Barton wants a free kick for a supposed elbow in the chest from Assou-Ekotto. Howard Webb is not interested.

Finally, Gabbidon is on and we can continue.

Meanwhile, Shaun Derry has some Vaseline smeared on a cut on his head. They are dropping like flies.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Hall limps off with a hamstring it looks like and Danny Gabbidon is coming on.

Fitz Hall looks like he's pulled something and is asking to come off.

QPR have hardly had a kick so far. Could be a long afternoon for them.

Assou-Ekotto takes and curls it over the bar.

Another intervention from Kenny as he boots clear a dangerous cross before VDV is bumped outside the area to win Tottenham a free kick.

Superb save from Kenny! Modric's scuffed shot falls to Van der Vaart, he shoots low and the keeper is across to turn it behind.

Two early balls down the line for Lennon but he can't get onto either of them.
