Reading against Manchester United

Hunt nods down McCleary's cross but no-one was near enough to him. Bit better from Reading though.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Robson-Kanu has had a good game, but it is over, as Noel Hunt replaces.

Things winding down here now - no noise in the stands, Reading not committing enough men forward, Man Utd cruising to victory. We deserve more.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> McAnuff makes way and McCleary comes on.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/yellow_card.jpg" height="15"> Tabb catches Young and is carded.

McAnuff cuts in and has a pop - Lindegaard loses it for a split second but reclaims before the Pog can poke home.

Jones' shot is firmly blocked by Leigterwood - that looked painful.

Right, time for Reading to give this a right go now after closing up this half.

Bit selfish from Tabb - neglects to pass to Le Fondre and blasts over.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> RVP trots off and Danny Welbeck replaces him.

Ashley Young should just not bother shooting - this one has gone out for a throw in.

Ferdinand nods clear from Shorey's delivery.

Pogrebnyak wins a soft free kick off Evans and Reading can load the box again.

Such a poor atmosphere inside the stadium. Make some noise Reading fans.

That's 35 minutes gone without a goal now. Disgraceful.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Time for the Pog - Roberts makes way.

Oh calamity. Federici makes a total mess of a back pass, tries a Cruyff turn and is robbed by RVP, who then misses from four yards out. He was at an angle but that is amazing.

More good work down the left as Young finds the overlapping Jones, he cuts it back to RVP but the ball is behind him a little and he stabs it over the bar.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/1201/robinvanpersieshotoverlineespngrabvreafc20121201_275x155.jpg"> <br> Van Persie's shot is clearly over the line

Great work from Evra, getting to the byline then crossing for Rooney, he squares it instead of shooting, it finds its way back to Evra and he is flagged offside. Careless and wasteful.

Roberts shoves Evans out of the way and is penalised. Better from Reading though, getting the ball wide and threatening.

Too cute from Jones when he had space outside the area - he tries a flick for Rooney instead of shooting. Poor decision.

Robson-Kanu is having a great game, mugging Evra again and getting into the area, he finds Le Fondre but he can't turn and get a shot away, before Reading are denied a clear corner.

Lindegaard fluffs the corner, Morrison gives it to Leigterwood and Evra bundles into him but not before he won the ball.

Nice breakaway from Reading but Roberts' cross for Le Fondre is over hit. Much better from McDermott's side though.

Carrick clattered by Tabb - he likes a clatter that boy. Man Utd free kick. Reading poor so far in this second half.

Seven minutes gone in this second half, no goals and I'm bored out of my mind *joking*

Reading trying to get much tighter this half ans surrendering possession. That leaves Rooney on the ball and he sets up a nice chance to cross for RVP but it is cleared.

Great work from Roberts as he muscles Evans off the ball, he finds Le Fondre but the cross is poor and Rio clears.

Scrappy start to the half as Rooney crosses looking for Fletcher.

Decent effort from McAnuff as he saunters to the edge of the box but it rises a little too high.

Right, let's see if we can't match that first half....

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/1201/waynerooneypenaltymanutd20121201_275x155.jpg"><br> Wayne Rooney converts from the spot

<b>HT</b> - well, if you've ever seen a more entertaining half of football please let me know. Seven goals, one disallowed, one yellow card, two substitutions and one lie down needed for a certain live texter *collapses*

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Another change for the visitors as Phil Jones replaces the injured Anderson. Shame, he was playing well.

So nearly 4-4! Robson-Kanu has given Evra a torrid time and this time cuts in before delivering a shot slash cross that Lindegaard is grateful just to scramble clear.

It was practically impossible for the assistant to see that properly. No way he could have given it with certainty. Goalline technology yesterday please.

IT was in! RVP's effort is a foot over the line the replay shows. It should be 5-3. In the linesman's defence, it went by in a flash.

Still no replay on that RVP effort but it didn't look like it had crossed the line. Plenty thinking it did though.

Off the line! Oh my word! Federici saves Rooney's header, it loops up for RVP about five yards out but Morrison blocks on the line. Ridiculous.

So, both teams have taken the lead twice and we've not yet played 40 minutes. Ever seen a half like this before?

Evra brings down Robson-Kanu and Shorey's free kick is clutched gratefully by Lindegaard.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/1201/andersonashleyyoungcelebvreafc20121201_275x155.jpg"><br> Anderson celebrates with Ashley Young after netting at Reading

Shorey plays RVP onside from Rooney's flick and that is an expert finish. Seven goals in 34 minutes. What is going on?!

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> RVP makes it 4-3 to Man Utd! MADNESS!

Manchester United have NEVER conceded three goals this early in a Premier League match before.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Rafael has had a nightmarish half hour and he's been taken off for Smalling. He's not happy but perhaps he should keep quiet.

Lovely one-two between Evra and Young, the left back gets his head up and crosses for Rooney to fire home from seven yards.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Rooney slots home from Evra's cross!

Less than convincing but Rooney shanks the ball clear.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/yellow_card.jpg" height="15"> Rafael gets a booking for hauling back McAnuff after he'd been beaten. More danger for Man Utd's brittle defence.

Superb again from Robson-Kanu who delivers a wicked ball that Roberts misses, Lindegaard parries and Tabb can't get a shot off.

Man Utd were ahead for just three minutes, then Reading scored two in four.

Wow! What a game! Morrison bombs on to the corner and nods home from four yards with Lindegaard blocked off. Crazy, crazy stuff.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Morrison scores Reading's third!

Fantastic football from Reading as Robson-Kanu takes on Carrick and squares, then Tabb crosses and only a good header from Ferdinand stops another goal. Corner after Evans concedes a poor corner.

Rafael brings down McAnuff and Reading have a free kick wide left. No card, and not much contact either it seems.

Such a simple goal, he's totally unmarked on the six-yard line and nods home. Woeful defending.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Le Fondre equalises!

Robson-Kanu twisting and turning Evra, who does well to stay with his man and block the cross. Corner.

Right, it's all change then. Two goals in four minutes for United who now lead. Tabb protested the decision but he can't have any complaints - certain pen.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Rooney scores!

Man Utd penalty! Tabb bundles right into Evans after he'd brought down the corner. Rooney to take.

What a superb little flick from RVP, world class, Young is inside the area but a diving Robson-Kanu blocks his cross.

A lovely move, he spread the ball wide and then turned, got the return pass from Young and fires home at the near post. Keeper should have done better.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Anderson equalises!

RVP drops deep to receive the ball, then promptly gives it away.

A poor cross from Rooney when he had two players in the box to aim at. Young was in space as well.

So, YET AGAIN, Man Utd fall behind.

A superb ball into the box McAnuff, Evans glances clear but Robson-Kanu chests down before rifling into the top corner.

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/goal.gif"> <b>GOAL</b> Robson-Kanu strikes!

A poor ball from Rooney - cut out by Robson-Kanu.

Nice chest control from Anderson and a decent cross but only Rooney in the box and it goes over his head.

Young gets a decent slice of possession inside the box and looks for the far corner, but nearly hits the corner flag. Oh dear.

Man Utd have won 11 of their last 13 in the league.

Two decent early balls into Man Utd's box but both repelled. Bright start from Reading.
