Stevenage against Tottenham Hotspur

Defoe fires wide with his left foot! Poor effort; emblematic of Spurs' afteroon. They're simply below par

This game is surely heading for a draw and a replay. Can't see where a goal's coming from

Redknapp brings in some pace in the form of Lennon, though Spurs' best player this afternoon - Danny Rose - has come off

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Lennon on, Rose off

Danny Rose is down in some pain...

Very good defending from Wilson, tracking Rose back and shielding the ball for a goal-kick. He's played well today

Stevenage really have defended well and stayed organised throughout

Good catch again from Day, collecting Bale's cross. He's shown today why he once played in the Premier League

Spurs goal-kick...

Better football from Spurs. Bale made a great run on the right and cut the ball back to Saha but the Frenchman failed to connect properly with the ball - with Parker waiting to shoot - and the chance passed

What a miss by Saha!

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Charles off, Cowan on

Dangerous territory now for Spurs, this. A single goal could win it for Stevenage - not that the home side are in any way dominating - and there's also the serious possibility of a replay, which they'll certainly want to avoid.

Decent delivery by Day does well to collect safely

Spurs corner...

Rose fouls Freeman. Free-kick to Stevenage from a dangerous crossing position

Cudicini catches Freeman's cross and Spurs recover the possession

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Beardsley off, May on

Great tracking back from Bale, chasing Wilson and timely a sliding tackle superbly to win the ball

That should give Spurs more balance and penetration

That should mean the Croatian midfielder plays on the right for Spurs, with Kaboul going to right-back and the side adopting a 4-4-2, with Rose at left back and Bale on the other wing

Interesting call from Redknapp. Walker hasn't been at his best today and Kranjcar will add creativity

<img src="http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/gp10/i/subs.gif"> Walker off, Kranjcar on

Cudicini spells another Byrom shot, but Nelsen clears! Obvious uncertainty from the 'keeper. Doesn't bode well

Lovely passing today from Parker. He's such a good professional; unlike many may, he wouldn't let his performance or concentration drop, even in a so-called "easier" game

Byrom's next! That's a very good effort, really well struck that goes just over the crossbar. Stevenage clearly fancy this

Freeman's next to shoot wide! Plenty of shots are coming in from Stevenage but few of them are taking place inside the penalty area

Good block by Walker on Byrom's powerful shot! Stevenage are continuing to shoot when the chance arises which seems to be the right approach

It would have been a poor goal anyway and perhaps unfair on Stevenage. It does, however, underline the threat Rose has had so far

Very unlucky for Spurs but it's a great call! Saha turned in Rose's cross but it hit the offside Parker - who was on the goal-line - before going in and it's ruled out for offside

Spurs have a goal disallowed!!

There's a bit of a lull in play at the moment. Both sides are struggling to retain the ball or do anything significant with it when they've the chance

Poor from Bale, he sluggishly gives the ball away

He just gives Spurs that platform to play up and, playing a box-to-box role, drops to support the defence to give them an extra option or breaks to join attacks

Spurs currently look comfortable in possession and Parker remains the focal point of everything

Saha caught offside. Again. He and Defoe need to start playing with their heads more

...which Day punches clear!

Spurs corner...

Good effort there by Bale! A good run before shooting towards the bottom left; Chris Day did well to dive to his bottom left and turn the ball around the post

Stevenage kick-off...

The teams are back out for the second-half...

The home side will be far happier with that than Spurs will be. They're performing well and are by no means being outclassed. The longer the game continues like this, the more dangerous it will be for the Premier League side

<b>Half-time: Stevenage 0-0 Tottenham</b>

Cudicini gathers the loose ball, but that was initially dangerous. Bostwick, for those that are interested, scored in the fourth round against Newcastle last season

Good effort by Bostwick, who has shown throughout that he's happy to shoot on sight. His effort is deflected wide and Stevenage have a corner

There surely won't be much added time; it's difficult to see anyone scoring during the half

Kaboul shoots wide when aiming for the top right corner (from the left). Decent effort - lots of power and well struck but ultimately not accurate enough

Spurs free-kick...

The Stevenage fans are currently chanting "Gareth Bale looks like a chimp..."

Beardsley's well-struck shot is blocked by Saha! They've the ball at the back again but the crowd have obviously been lifted and the home side currently has the momentum

Stevenage corner!

Stevenage have another free-kick near the corner spot. This could be dangerous as they're rather adept in the air

Free-kick to Stevenage. That's better from the home side; they're applying the sort of pressure they need.

Dawson's header is cleared by Bostwick and Stevenage are now breaking...

Superb from Laird! The defender rushes out to block Defoe's free-kick which appeared to be well struck. Spurs throw-in

Saha fouled. Spurs free-kick on the edge of the box in a dangerous area

Spurs' superior quality is perhaps showing now. They're not playing far better but Saha shot over the bar - after his boot was removed by a defensive challenge - not clinical as he can be but Spurs are finally creating

Good again from Rose - again gets in behind the full-back and sends a dangerous cross into Stevenage's penalty area. Walker rushed in to head the ball but failed to connect properly and headed wide

Neither side has yet to concede an FA Cup goal this season...

Well played again by Rose on Spurs' left; did well to get in behind the full-back and put a cross into the penalty area. He's Spurs' biggest threat so far

Beardsley, Stevenage's top scorer despite not scoring since Boxing Day, fires wide there with an ambitious effort

I'm not convinced he's even a better footballer than a prime Damien Duff or Harry Kewell. Great players once, so no shame in that, but just pointing out the level of over-excitement directed towards the Welshman

He's very good at his strengths and at hugging the touchline but doesn't seem to have the vision or creativity to play through the middle.

Can't say Bale looks particularly comfortable with the freedom he has lately.

Spurs free-kick near the halfway line...

Redknapp's understandably looking unhappy on the sidelines. Spurs aren't retaining the ball, their snatching at possession and both Defoe and Saha are being caught offside

Stevenage are currently enjoying a nice period of possession. Whenever Spurs recover the ball and clear, Stevenage regain it again. Good pressure from the minnows

The FA Cup is a realistic chance for Spurs to win a trophy this season; they, Liverpool and Chelsea are the three remaining 'big' sides and, with Chelsea's struggles, if Spurs can progress today they'll surely seriously target it

Defoe shoots wide following a good run and cutback from Rose on the left. He wasn't in a great position to shoot with either foot but tried to do so with his right so it was no surprise to see the ball go wide

Stevenage goal-kick

Not that that's Spurs' favoured approach. They've been great to watch this year but, regardless, it's always beneficial to have other options

The signing of Saha could be proved particularly prudent today; Spurs have previously struggled to play directly this season wheenever Emmanuel Adebayor has been absent but they can no do so with Saha up front. Previously, Defoe had understandably struggled under the long ball.

Stevenage have yet to let Tottenham settle into any real rhythm. For their part, Spurs have been unambitious so far and are content to keep the ball and wait for any potential openings

...while he also made Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick and Joe Cole Premier League regulars

Redknapp, of course, has rarely been reluctant to select younger players. Kyle Walker has been a regular for Spurs this season...

Redknapp, no doubt, will be looking for an impact from the likes of Livermore and Rose; both have shown promise and could feature more regularly for Spurs if they perform

Good challenge there by Parker, sliding in to win the ball. Stevenage throw-in

Tottenham clear following little threat. Bale now has the ball on the left wing

Kaboul clears under pressure. Stevenage have an early corner

The reality is he shouldn't be. This is a player who, though declining, was once a very good goalkeeper and has Champions League experience

Shakey start their from Cudicini; dropping the ball and falling when jumping to catch a Stevenage cross. He recovered the ball afterwards but Spurs will hope he's not nervous

Poor delivery from Freeman, so Spurs clear

Walker fouls Freeman. It's a free-kick for Stevenage from crossing range

As always in this sort of fixture, if the bigger side can get an early goal it can spell an early end for the underdog

How Spurs shape up will be interesting; it's not yet entirely clear if they're playing 4-4-2 or 5-3-2

Tottenham kick-off...

The teams are out on the pitch, kick-off is moments away...

Louis Saha continues up front for Spurs and Jermain Defoe is recalled alongside him. No one doubts Bale's fitness so it's not a great surprise to see his inclusion but Parker's shows how important he has become to Spurs this season and how crucial he is to the way they play.

Stevenage are obviously big underdogs today but they've former England Under-21 goalkeeper Chris Day and ex-Arsenal trainee Luke Freeman to call upon. Both will need to be at their best to secure a good result for their side

Harry Redknapp has taken the opportunity to rest many of his big players though Scott Parker, Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson are retained. Ryan Nelsen will make his full debut for the club.

The team news is in for and, though there are no huge surprises, some interesting calls have been made.
