Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain

Four minutes of stoppage time to be played.

Messi draws a free-kick near PSG's corner flag. Surely the Champions League semi-finals are now guaranteed to be an all Spanish/German affair.

Beckham booked, combination of petulance and a couple of fouls.

Lucas couldn't quite control the ball in the Barcelona penalty area, the Catalans clear.

PSG being frustrated by Barcelona's dominance of possession. Delicious turn from Iniesta to create space but his shot is in the side-netting.

Thiago Silva late on Messi and he also misses the next match if PSG progress.

Not quite the grandstand finish we'd been hoping on for here.

As a former Real Madrid player, the reception is hardly welcoming for the former England captain.

Stats: Kevin Gameiro has scored in six matches in 2012/13; PSG have won them all.

Zlatan plays in Lavezzi, but he had wandered just offside.

Barca were really turning the screw before the goal and it was no more than they deserved really.

PSG need to push for the winner, and you'd think they need to throw on Gameiro and Menez soon.

Suddenly, Barca look full of life and PSG look tired and laboured.

A great European tie in front of us here - which is more than can be said for tonight's other game. Bayern lead 1-0 in Turin, they're 3-0 up on aggregate and heading into the semis.

Barcelona 1-1 PSG Messi started the move, he played it to Villa, who produced a wonderful lay-off to Pedro. Barca's No. 17 made no mistake with a precise finish from the edge of the box. Superb goal.

GOAL Pedro smashes home the equaliser.

Lavezzi wins a corner and Thiago Silva's header nearly finds Ibrahimovic, but Valdes was out quickly to claim the ball.

Pastore almost looked like he was going to take the ball into the corner. It's a little early for that!

Mistake by Pique, who concedes a throw-in, deep inside Barcelona's half.

Pastore drags a left-foot shot wide, PSG still creating chances on the break.

Poor touch from the Argentina star and it's a lucky escape for Les Parisiens.

Iniesta curls a shot goalwards and forces an excellent save from Sirigu, but it's palmed out to Messi...

Pique shoots from the resulting corner but it's cleared.

Barca piling on the pressure now - Iniesta tiptoes through but Alex puts in a superb last-ditch challenge to deny him.

What a roar from the Camp Nou crowd as Messi enters the fray. Can he change his team's fortunes though?

Bartra on for Adriano.

Jordi Alba's cross falls to Alves, whose shot goes the same way as most other's tonight. Over.

PSG looking really dangerous on the counter-attack - Ibrahimovic unlucky not to win a free-kick from Pique's block.

Straight at Valdes.

In the mean time, it's a PSG free-kick, 30 yards out. Zlatan to strike it...

It's not Messi though. Adriano is down, Bartra is being readied.

Time for a Barca sub...

Pastore fluffs his lines after the ball was squared but Barca win it back and claim a free-kick. Busquets in late on Verratti.

Stats (courtesy of UEFA): Maxwell joined Barcelona in 2009, leaving for PSG in January 2012. He made 57 Liga appearances and won two league titles but did not feature in Barcelona's 2011 UEFA Champions League final victory.

Should have been a corner, took a massive deflection of Alex. Referee unmoved.

Fabregas tees up Villa, who shoots wide.

Alba receives the ball on the left and takes on Jallet, who does well to divert the ball out for a corner.

Barca deep in PSG territory, back on the offensive. Messi is warming up now.

So PSG are now 3-2 up on aggregate, and Barca are all over the place. Lavezzi nearly latching on to another through-ball.

Messi immediately reaches to lace up his boots. His arrival is imminent.

Barcelona 0-1 PSG. Zlatan threads the eye of a needle to find Pastore and he kept his cool, bearing down on Valdes to tuck a left-footed shot home. The cat is well and truly among the pigeons now.

GOAL PSG lead - Pastore finishes the counter-attack.

Stats (courtesy of Opta: Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 20 CL games at Camp Nou (16 wins, 4 draws), their last defeat dating back to October '09.

Fabregas lines one up but again it's skewed high and wide. Shooting boots universally absent.

More positive running from Lucas Moura, continuing where he left off in the first half and winning a free-kick near the centre circle.

Alba skips past Jallet impressively but his cross is cleared by Alex. Corner for Barca.

Barca get us started and although they don't need to score to go through, should PSG bag a goal they would be undoubtedly nervy.

And we're off...

All set for the second 45 minutes, now. No sign of Messi yet.

I'd love to be able to promise goals in the second half but I was utterly convinced there would be some in my last live commentary on Malaga v Dortmund last week. HT: Barca 0-0 PSG. A compelling game so far, I hate rolling out the cliches but the next goal really is going to be HUGE. Wonder how long Barca will wait before unleashing Messi. Decent showing so far from PSG in terms of chance creation. Valdes doing well, just as he did last week.

There goes the half-time whistle...

Iniesta gets into an advanced position just after the corner but his cross is over-hit.

Maxwell clears the ball out for a corner. Last chance of the half is going to be Barca's.

Barca have enjoyed 62% possession so far, but despite that control PSG have managed their fair share of opportunities.

Straight into the wall from the PSG striker.

About 30 yards out, maybe more. Zlatan looks keen...

Lucas has unquestionably been PSG's brightest spark so far tonight. Really good performance.

Adriano goes in hard on Lucas Moura.

Fabregas the latest man to contribute a wayward shot this evening. They are all struggling to hit the target out there.

Turns out he was offside anyway.

Pastore with the through-ball to Ibrahimovic but Zlatan looked a bit cumbersome and his lack of pace allowed Valdes out to collect.

Well worked out of defence by PSG but Lavezzi proceeds to give it away. Poor pass when there was a real chance for the counter.

Pedro and Villa combine and the latter fires a shot over the bar. Decent chance for Villa and he'll be disappointed with the finish.

Messi looking particularly bored on the bench. Certainly a position he is not used to being in.

Jallet goes down clutching his head after a mid-air collision with Pedro.

Villa picks up the ball in a dangerous position but he's on his own with no Blaugrana shirts in the box. He's patiemt and eventually flashes one across goal. Lacking in support though.

Alex meets the corner but it just glances off the top of his head. A little too high.

Pastore feeds in Lucas Moura, who does well to get onto the ball. Corner for PSG.

He's back on now. The boos subside.

Barca fans booing vociferously as Alves hasn't been allowed back on the pitch yet after coming off with a little knock.

Stats (courtesy of UEFA): Zlatan Ibrahimovic has set up a competition high of six goals this season.

Again Valdes required to make a save, from Maxwell's header.

Alves looking a little weak defensively, PSG getting a lot of joy down the Barca right. Corner now for Les Parisiens.

Ibrahimovic lofts a cross in and Moura's header is well dealt with by Valdes.

Ibrahimovic feeds Jallet down the right but he's strayed offside.

Thiago Silva rises but Barcelona clear their lines and immediately break.

Alves pulls down Verratti. PSG pack the box.

Very open so far. Good game.

Excellent stop from Valdes with his right foot, thought that was going to be this game's first goal. Cracking through-ball by Ibrahimovic.

Lavezzi through again...

Alves' cross headed away by Jallet. The ball drops to Iniesta, whose shot is deflected off Maxwell and into Sirigu's grasp.

Pastore emerges with the ball but immediately gives it away looking for a decisive pass.

Pedro pokes one goalwards after Sirigu palmed away his intial effort. Side-netting but it was unconvincing defending from PSG.

Good positive running from Lucas Moura once more but the one-two he was looking for did not come off.

Lucas Moura the latest PSG player to shoot on sight. But it's again troubling the Barca supporters in the crowd more that Valdes.

Alves hits one on the left-foot volley from 30 yards. Optimistic to say the least. Didn't even make it to the goal.

Alves advances and pulls it back for Villa, whose shot is deflected out for a corner.

Stats (courtesy of UEFA): Xavi has completed 930 passes, 411 more than any other player and at least twice as many as all but three players in the Champions League this season. He has completed 89% of his attempted passes.

It opens up again for Lavezzi but he has scooped one high over the bar. Some decent openings for PSG as well as Barca in these opening exchanges.

Lucas strikes one from 20 yards out but his low shot is smothered by Valdes.

Jordi Alba shows good strength to ease Lucas off the ball. Those two were engaged in an intriguing tussle in Paris last Tuesday.

Given away by Verratti cheaply in midfield and Iniesta tries a delightful lob from all of 45 yards, which dips narrowly over Sirigu's bar.

Fabregas finds space again inside the penalty area but Alex is this time on hand to dispossess him.

It's been a quiet opening ten minutes for Ibrahimovic. Barcelona, as they did in France (and always do), are dictating play with their metronomic passing.

Stats: Carlo Ancelotti suffered a Champions League semi-final defeat against Barcelona in 2005/06, his Milan side succumbing 1-0 at home in the first leg before a goalless draw at Camp Nou. (courtesy of UEFA)

Pique tries an audacious back-heel but there's no-one to collect after he connects.

Barcelona corner now...

Fabregas takes a swing at the ball, Motta takes his leg away. No penalty says the referee.

It was a bizarre free-kick for PSG to concede. Thiago Silva was taking a free-kick for offside but slipped as he kicked it. With Barca players bearing down and the ball free, Silva went and kicked it again, which of course you are not allowed to do having taken the free-kick. He escaped punishment, though.

Straight into the wall.

Another free-kick for Barcelona. Xavi again lining it up.

Lavezzi was involved this way in the early stages at the Parc des Princes, really causing Barca some problems before his influence waned.

But he loses his footing, going alone when he should perhaps have looked to pass to Ibrahimovic.

Lavezzi is through again...

Iniesta tries to thread the ball through to Villa but it's an unusually poorly executed pass from the Spain maestro.

Lavezzi finds himself straight down the other end in behind Alves but curls his shot straight into the hands of Valdes.

It's wide... just. Superb free-kick from Xavi and it's so close. Looked in at first but was side-netting.

Loose early pass from Jallet results in Barcelona winning a free-kick for a late challenge on Fabregas. Xavi places it, around 25-30 yards out.

PSG get us underway...

We're almost ready, and I'm pretty flippin' excited!

It feels like Barca's to lose - even without Messi - although the Blaugranas defence still seems questionable. Adriano plays centre-back tonight instead of the injured Mascherano.

The players congregating in the tunnel now at Camp Nou, ready to come out for what should be a cracker.

Guess I should probably partake in some shameless self-promotion so here's my piece from last week's first leg at the Parc des Princes.
