San Marino's goal difference currently reads -21 for this World Cup qualifying campaign with zero goals scored and 21 conceded. Don't want to feel pity but it's hard not to.

Not too sure about that Mark, this is a San Marino team who have lost their last 50 games in a row so don't read too much into it. If England are 5-0 up at half-time against Montenegro on Tuesday, maybe we can dare to dream!

They've had to do a job and they've gone about it professionally.

There goes the half-time whistle...

Rooney strikes one tamely from the edge of the box and Simoncini touches the ball in open play for the first time in a while.

Rooney dropping deep to pick the ball up quite often, not too much joy for him so far though.

"Are you Scotland in disguise," the England fans chant.

Defoe misses a great chance at the back post from a corner. He heads it over from close range as the ball bounced up kindly. Should have done better.

That was very kind from the official, especially as Simoncini had both hands on the ball. More clear cut than Norwich's Mark Bunn last weekend.

Simoncini looked like he handballed it outside of the box. He even seemed to apologise for the misdemeanour. But the ref lets him off. Clearly in generous mood.
