Rangers against Barcelona

Abidal lines up the shot, but that shows he's a left-back and goes way into the stand. Rijkaard has just come off a defeat against Villareal and this won't please the Dutchman.

Adam wins it and Ferguson miscontrols. Shame, they were away there if he'd been able to take that in his stride.

Cousin pressing hard, but is unable to keep it in. They've done so well to hold Barca off, they surely can't lose concentration now?

50,000 have seen this game, but will they see a dramatic finale?

Barca look rattled. Rangers holding on to the ball and will certainly take a point from here..

Game is end to end now. Not got the goals of an Arsenal or United match, but still you can't take your eyes off it.

Thought that was in! And up the other end, Gudjohnsen is just caught offside. Henry is subbed for Dos Santos. No-one is untouchable..

Ferguson smashes it across! Milito heads it away. Ball comes back in, and Cousin hits it. Just wide! Excellent chance there.

Hutton, who has been Rangers' player of the game, wins a corner with a great run down the right wing. Gudjohnsen forced to defend and Barca are being pegged back here, the Gers could nick something...

Kiev hit back with a goal against United, too little too late though?

There's not a player from Barca who's not being booed by the Ibrox crowd. Ronaldinho in particular is getting some stick. Rangers still on top here and are playing it around well.

McGregor, the Rangers keeper, has had very little to do so far. Barca need to work him more if they're to get anything from the game.

Beasley doing well in defence and he breaks with some trademark pace. Final stages of the game now, and Rangers would love this point if they could keep things the same.

Rangers are having a go now! Cousin down the left, the ball falls back for McCulloch, but he slashes at it and it goes well over. The crowd really getting into the game now.

Ronaldinho hits another free-kick into the wall. Surely they can't let him take another one.

Weir will be booked for that. Messi racing away, exposed by his defence, Weir brings him down. Beasley is coming on for Novo.

Great stuff from the Scottish club. They could have really shocked Europe with a goal there.

Top stuff again from Hutton down the right. Rangers pushing on! Cousin whips it in and Ferguson was a foot away from getting on the end of the ball in.

Messi and Ronaldinho link up. The Brazilian with the cross, oh that was close. Cuellar puts it behind. And again! From the corner, Papac missed it, Henry slightly shocked to get it, heads wide.

Will Rangers be content with a point? Or try to push on and score? It looks like they might just be happy with what they've got.

Hutton is there again to clear as Barca had a three on two over on the far post. Cousin has to hold it up, and Hutton now appears on the right wing to swing in the cross Milito clears. Hutton really has been impressive.

Novo gets a weak cross in down the right, but Abidal does well there. Messi and Ronaldinho try to get things going again but they just can't find a breakthrough.

Still, the Rangers defence are holding firm. Rijkaard looks annoyed and it's not surprising given the nature of the game so far.

Foul down in the corner. Good cross from Adam, but it's cleared at the near post. Rijkaard is arguing furiously with the referee, no idea what about though and he's been sent back to his seat.

An hour up and Rangers still holding out. It still seems that Barca will score, surely the Gers will be tiring now?

Ronaldinho's shot blocked by Weir. Xavi plays it back in, but too long. Henry is the next one to go for it, but is held off by Hutton.

Incredible stuff at the Emirates, Arsenal are just in complete control. While United are still leading in Kiev.

Hutton bursts forward down the right. Loses out though and Barcelona come forward again. Keep rotating the ball, and it falls to Xavi who hits a good shot but well over.

Rangers on the ropes a bit more now. Arsenal have cut through again to score again and it's 6-0.

Thompson, who has already been booked, tussles with Ronaldinho. The game should have been allowed to carry on there, but the ref blew up. Iniesta and Messi can't link up, and the blue army wins the ball back again.

Gudjohnsen hits it! Good low save by McGregor, he spills it, but there's no-one there. And now Arsenal are 5-0 up. Walcott with the strike.

Messi went down like he'd been shot there. Papac has been booked! That's shocking, the ref has gone card happy and it's only 5 mins in.

Cuellar is there first as the ball bounces off Gudjohnsen. McCulloch tracked his man back and they did well to clear.

Hutton has been Rangers' best player so far, it's his job to marshall Henry again this half. Maybe even get forward and try to cause them trouble at the back.

Milito handballs and takes out Cousin in the process. He's picked up a yellow, so the ref has evidently realised he should have booked more players in the first half.

Thuram got a bit lucky there with Valdes rescuing his header back. Rangers will really hope to have a better half, they need to start posing Barca some problems.

Second half starts off again.

Half-time.

Puyol nutmegs Papac, but his cross finds no-one. Hutton again gets there, he's been great at right-back and has stopped Henry being his usual self.

Dangerous here. Ferguson pulls Ronaldinho back. No booking again though, and the boos ring out at the Brazilian.

Arsenal and United now have three goals apiece.

Hutton comes out and block it with his hand. Ronaldinho screaming for the pen. Not given!

Messi has the door firmly shut in his face by Papac. The little Argentinean looks lively now. Puyol finds his way up front and misses a header. The corner comes in.. Penalty, surely?

Considering all the possession, McGregor hasn't really been tested. Henry proves this when he shoots, and nearly hits the corner flag.

Ronaldinho hits it into the wall. He was too close and Rangers continue to hold them at bay.

Superb one touch stuff from the Spanish side. The pressure is relentless and Henry is held back. Thompson is booked and is ruled out of the match at the Nou Camp. Just outside the box...

It's like a training match now. Lots of blue shirts behind the ball, Barca midfield just stroking it about. Every time the Gers clear it, it just ends up coming back in again.

Kiev have got themselves back into it with a goal against Man Utd. Still no goals here though.

Smith will be happy with this, as Novo and Hutton double up to deal with Henry down the left.

Messi hasn't really got into the game and he gives it away. Cousin pounces and protects the ball, waiting for support in the form of Novo, Milito and Thuram shut the door quickly.

Half hour mark has been reached and Rangers still haven't conceded, which is impressive. Now they're starting to string together some passes. Keep Barca off the ball and they might do well.

Cousin is a lone figure up front for Rangers. They've done better to try and get the ball to him, but to no avail so far.

Stuttgart and Lyon were a different proposition. Rangers really need to step on the gas a bit, if only to break up the play. Hutton does well to track Henry, who looks buzzing.

So much possession from Barcelona. But there's a blue bus parked in front of the Rangers goal.

Papac saves the day for Rangers. Great dink in by Messi, over the wall of blue shirts in front of the box, but Papac was there to head it behind.

Arsenal have scored again. Hleb with the cross and in off a defender. Rangers now playing catch-up as both English sides are 2-0 up now.

No corner given though. Refereeing has been poor so far. Big deflection on that one.

Henry and Ronaldinho over it. The Brazilian gives it another go. Great pace and dip, McGregor touches it onto the bar.

Barca still maintaining possession and trying to break down the Rangers line. Ronaldinho tricks his way past Hutton, who should have been booked, but again there is nothing given.

Good run down the left wing by Thompson, Milito has to be there to clear the cross from his own six yard box. Barca so quick on the counter though, misplaced pass by Henry gives them some breathing space.

Novo looking lively. His skill gets him past Milito, snatches at the shot and wins a corner off Thuram. Brilliant control from Weir, but the pass from Cuellar is not up to the same standards.

Rooney has netted for Man Utd. Ferguson passes to Novo who breaks through for Rangers, but his cross ends up in the hands of Valdes.

Rangers playing the long ball. It's really not working, but then Henry and Ronaldinho haven't quite worked it out together yet.

Weir barges over the Brazilian. Ronaldinho thought he was Jonny Wilkinson with that attempt.

Papac gets a challenge in with the toe of his boot to stop Ronaldinho making it into the box. Again, you feel it's only a moment of time before they score.

Hutton nearly releases Novo, but again Barca cut it out. Henry is against two up front, he waits for Messi and the shot comes in. Great block from Cuellar on the line. They were lucky there.

Henry is sublime down the left wing. The ball looks glued to his foot, but Adam gets the tackle in.

Both English clubs are winning, can Rangers keep up the British success?

Walter Smith looks concerned on the sidelines. Rangers really haven't had a look in yet.

Even with only three in the middle of the park, Barca are controlling the ball well. Puyol had a great chance to shoot, but chose a poor pass instead.

Kanoute has scored for Sevilla. That's probably the first of many. And Ferdinand has made it one nil to Man Utd as well.

Abidal really should have got a yellow for that. Hutton was through down the right, but a free-kick is all they'll get. Good ball in there, Novo's cross and Cousin nearly makes it onto the end of it.

Rangers being pushed back into their half and not creating much up front. They'll do well to keep a clean sheet in this game.

Great chance for Gudjohnsen. He rose from a corner and headed over. Really should have done better, the Icelander will be disappointed.

Henry looking to run into the space behind the Rangers' defence. Caught offside, but he'll surely get one of those right at some point...

Ronaldinho playing with the ball, flicking it over Papac. He's got some serious skills, but can he make the difference in this game?

Ronaldinho aims a through ball at Henry, but it's way too long. He's playing in the familiar left sided role. Hutton will have to be careful.

Rangers haven't touched the ball yet.

Thuram has started in the middle. Puyol playnig right-back as Barca pass it around. They're there to win the game, not playing for a draw.

Kick-off.

Players are shaking hands, and the noise is incredible.

Jean-Claude Darcheville and Brahim Hemdani have been ruled out for Rangers. So they go with Novo and Cousin up front. Barca look light in midfield, without Yaya Toure, Deco or Edmilson.

Ibrox will be loud tonight. As Rangers try and emulate Scotland's successes in the Euro 2008 qualifying. Barcelona lost at the weekend, but will be a tough test.

Ronaldinho hits another free-kick into the wall. Surely they can't let him take another one.

Weir will be booked for that. Messi racing away, exposed by his defence, Weir brings him down. Beasley is coming on for Novo.
