So, PSV triumph on penalties. Beasley misses for the home side, but misses from Abidal and Essien mean the Dutch side go through, to meet probably AC Milan.

PEN 8: Abidal goes low, but Gomes guesses right and saves low. PSV 3-2 Lyon.
PEn 7: Beasley scuffs a penalty straight at the keeper. Dreadful. Nerves got the better of him. He's consoled by his team-mates, though they are probably cursing him under their breath. PSV 3-2 Lyon.
PEN 6: Ben Harfe slots home. Too cool for Christmas. PSV 3-2 Lyon.
PEN 5: Bouma clips a left-foot shot just inside the post to hand his side a massive advantage. PSV 3-1 Lyon.
PEN 4: Essien, the young Ghanian, goes low to Gomes' left, but the keeper guesses correctly and saves easily. He looks as though he might cry. PSV 2-1 Lyon.

ESPN has no formation for this match, so here are the line-ups as a list.
PEN 3: Ooijer smashes straight down the middle. PSV 2-1 Lyon.
PEN 2: Juninho goes the same way as Van Bommel. The keeper goes the other way. The crowd fall silent. PSV 1-1 Lyon
PEN 1: Van Bommel smashes low to the keeper's left. His head throbs with passion as he cheers the crowd.
Penalties are the new rock and roll. Except without the drugs, attractive groupies, mental breakdowns, trashed hotel rooms, public affection, ability to change the world and Bob Dylan.
FULL TIME EXTRA TIME: Penalties! Penalties! Penalties! Stay here with me, and prepare to wet your pants with excitement.
Both sides have defended very well tonight. PSV in the second half, especially; Alex and Bouma started badly with a number of mistakes, but have been massive since the break.
Lyon win some ball deep in PSV territory, but they attempt to be a little too clever and, instead of shooting from just outside the area, attempt to work a better chance. They fail, and PSV break.
Both sets of players will now be turning their thoughts to whether they will be asked to take a penalty. Would you? I wouldn't, I can tell you that right now.
PSV win a corner, but Lyon hold strong and head clear.
If the tension inside the stadium here could be likened to the size of a dog, with Great Dane being "Very tense" and poodle being "Not very tense", I'd certainly equate it somewhere close to a Sheep Dog. Does that help paint a picture?
Essien knocks a couple of million pounds off his summer transfer value as he slices a left-foot shot from 30 yards so badly that it goes out for a throw-in. But let's not be mean - the ball probably took a bobble.
Park requires treatmet after getting a forearm in the face from Essien. Nothing deliberate, obviously. There's a lot of love in Eindhoven, despite the tension.
Van Bommel brings down Juninho in a dangerous area. The Brazilian, anonymous all game, attempts to cheekily curl a chip over Gomes, but his effort drifts a yard or so over the bar.
Park skills his way in to the area and flicks a ball through to Beasley, but the American is out-muscled six yards out.
Oooh! After some delay in getting the wall 10 yards away from the ball, Van Bommel curls a right-foot drive narrowly wide of the far post.
Van Bommel wins a free-kick just outside the area after being fouled by Reveillere. The PSV skipper stands over the ball, looking mean and moody.
Park tricks his man on the edge of the area and cracks a low right-foot shot just wide of the post. My commentator's eye saw the defelction off Cacapa's head. Corner.
Beasley cuts in from the left wing and his right-foot shot is blocked. The ball eventually finds Park in the box. He prods to Cocu, but the veteran's effort is weak and straight at Coupet.
PSV kick off, with their fans roaring them on. Neither side have really thrown caution to the wind just yet; there's too much at stake.
HALF-TIME EXTRA-TIME: No goals in the first period, though lots of running and determination. It's very difficult to call at the moment.
Nilmar is the most dangerous man on the pitch right now. He's making some darting runs in to areas that the PSV defenders don't want dragging in to, and is brining his team-mates in to play with great intelligence.
Juninho probes on the edge of the PSV area before collecting a return pass from Nilmar and crashing a low shot just wide of the post.
Without wishing to state the obvious, there are a lot of tired legs out there.
Bouma and Alex look very similar. They both have large, round faces and both seem to favour a vacant expression as default.
Gomes comes flying out of his goal as Nilmar chases down a ball over the top. The Brazilian striker seems to get a touch to the ball before he is brought down by the keeper, but the referee gives only a goal-kick.
Van Bommel wins a free-kick after Essien brings him down. The Lyon midfielder looks nervous as he is summoned towards the referee, like a young boy asked to explain the inappropriate magazine found under his bed by his father.
Perhaps the fact that Lyon rested six players over the weekend might benefit them in this period of extra-time.
Cocu fires a superb first-time shot in to the side netting, after Park had battled for possession down in the corner. Coupet seemed to have the shot covered, though.
SUB: Wiltord off, Nilmar on. Striker for striker for Lyon. Nilmar is an exciting yonng Brazilian striker, who has four Champions League goals to his name already this season.
I really can't remember Coupet being forced to make a save. That said, my memory isn't a strong point of mine, I'll admit. So bad is it, in fact, I have to leave a trail of crisps from my flat to work so I remember my way home.
Beasley slices a 30-yard shot high and wide. Perhaps it will take a special goal to win this tie; it's been so close all the way through.
A late night for everyone, it seems. The players will be so tired, and yet they face another half-hour of testing, top-level football. My heart bleeds for those poor little blighters.
We're off. PSV seemed to finish the stronger, but away goals still count, and a Lyon strike will all-but finish the tie.
Incidentally, I'm well aware that my half-time predicion of Lyon to triumph 3-1 was some way out. Thankfully, I have broad shoulders. It isn't the first time I've been wrong, believe me.
FULL TIME: But, as 1980s Irish 'comic' Jimmy Cricket used to say: "Come here, there's more..." 30 minutes of extra time will be played here in Eindhoven.
The referee blows for extra time with Malouda in possession on the edge of the area.
Malouda is fouled by Ooijer, but Lyon can't work an opportunity to put some late pressure on the home side.
Two minutes of added time will be played.
Reveillere fires an ambitious shot over the bar from distance after Juninho and Wiltord had turned down similar opportunities.
Wiltord chases down a long ball, admireably. He can't keep it play, despite his spectacular efforts.
SUB: Govou off, Ben Arfa on. Le Guen finally tries to change things by introducing a highly-rated young striker for Govou, who has barely touched the ball in the second half.
Juninho works the ball in to Malouda, but his shot from inside the area is blocked and the ball goes out for a throw.
Lyon prepare to make a substitiion; there is some activity on their bench.
SUB: Farfan off, Bogelund on. Hiddink makes his second substitution, attempting to give his side some fresh legs for the final push.
Van Bommel slides a ball in to Beasley, who had drifted in to some space inside the area. The substitute shoots right-footed, and the ball is deflected wide for a corner.
PSV are the side pressing at the moment. They are getting plenty of players forward, and forcing Lyon on to the back foot.
Park almost lofts a ball towards Farfan, but Cacapa hoofs clear.
I'm surprised that Lyon haven't made a substitution yet. They have been out-played in the second half, and need an injection of new ideas.
PSV win the free-kick after Park is brought down 40 yards out. Van Bommel takes it, but the ball evades everyone.
Lyon enjoy a spell of possession, though can create nothing. They look a little like they've ran out of ideas. And Alex and Bouma have been excellent in the second half, also.
The PSV fans are trying to raise their team for one final push.
I've consulted my team of researchers, and they inform me that no knockout stage tie has been determined by penalty kicks in the history of the Champions League.
Beasley beats his man again on the right wing and fires in a decent cross, though it is just too high for the two PSV men in the penalty area.
Reveillere clips a nice ball over the top of Lee for Govou to chase, but just as he is about to fire in his shot from a narrow angle, Bouma comes across and nicks possession.
Beasley holds the ball up for a second on the left wing, before darting to the by-line and cutting a very dangerous cross low in to the area. Coupet does excellently to cut out the danger, under heavy pressure from two PSV men.
Cris heads narrowly wide from a cross, with Gomes scrambling across his goal-line with a very concerned look on his pretty little face.
Oooh! The second corner finds its way to Cris, who slams a low shot goalwards. Gomes does very well to save, before three PSV players combine to block a second shot on the line.
Lyon win a corner when a low cross is deflected behind goal. Juninho's first effort is headed behind once more.
There is some argument going on down in the Lyon dug-out, between their manager Paul Le Guen and a UEFA official. It's soon sorter, however, and everyone seems content enough.
Lee wins a throw from Reveillere down in the corner, but PSV can't use the territory to their advantage. Still, they are looking stronger as the game progresses.
Juninho has been anonymous all game. He's highly-rated, but has done little over the course of these two legs. He shouldn't be tired - he was one of six Lyon players rested from their league match at the weekend.
Park is the busiest man on the pitch at the moment. He's running around like a Benny Hill nurse. Full of beans, he is. And internal organs, a few pints of blood and a bone or two. Did you know there are 206 bones in the human body, including 28 in our skull? You can use that one to impress your friends.
Park has a shot blocked after collecting a weak header by Cacapa in the Lyon penalty area. PSV certainly look a little more ambitious at this stage.
Nice build up play down the left wing as Van Bommel and Beasley combine, though the substitute can't quite collect the through ball.
'He who dares, wins'. A very great man once said that.
It's become very cagey; both sides are refusing to commit too many players forward for fear of conceding the crucial next goal.
A neat piece of skill from Beasley out on the right wing earns his side a free-kick. The American takes the set-piece left-footed, and Park crashes a volley well, well wide.
SUB: Beasley on for VoH. Interesting change: it's one striker for another, but Beasley is quicker and smaller than VoH, and so PSV will have to change the way they attack their French opponents.
Lyon, I imagine, will stay calm. They know that another goal puts them firmly in the driving seat, and that they are well capable of scoring.
For a moment, Wiltord is confused enough to think he's good enough to try and flick a cheeky little pass over the top of Lee towards Govou. Predictably, he fails miserably.
So, a reminder: if the score stays like this, we will have 30 minutes of extra-time. If the scores are still level, we go to penalties. And everyone loves penalties.
Lyon look a little shocked at the moment. This wasn't the start to the second period they were expecting. The atmosphere is incredible now; perhaps even better than Dylan at Wembley...
Wiltord is slipped in down the right channel, but his touch is awful and Gomes collects easily.
Oooh! Park cuts in from the left wing and crashes a right-foot shot just over the bar. Great start to the second half from the home side.
GOAL! Van Bommel curls the free-kick. It's half-cleared, but only to Alex, who controls and smashes a superb volley home from 10 yards out.
A nice turn from Park wins a free-kick on the corner of the Lyon box.
Vogel's snap-shot from just outside the area almost falls at the feet of VoH 12 yards out, but the striker has been tightly marked all game and the Lyon defenders clear once more.
Incidentally, there have been no substitutions at half-time. I'm sure if the score stays like this for another 15 minutes or so, that Hiddink will be thinking of a change.
PSV kick off the second half. It's still raining, perhaps a little more heavily. Bouma gives possession away immediately, Essien breaks in to the box but screws his shot well wide.
The players are back out on the pitch. My prediction at the final whistle? 3-1 to Lyon.
Does anyone want to know some facts about the city of Eindhoven? You do? Good. Did you know that in 1554 a fire destroyed 75% of the houses in the city? Or that it was a target for the Allied-led Operation Market Garden in WWII? Or that during the city's carnival-week, it is temporarily renamed Lampegat, which means 'Lamp Hole'?
HALF-TIME: Wiltord's goal has put the French side in a great position. But there is still very little between the two sides; a PSV goal would level the tie.
PSV need to get some support up to VoH. Park is doing his best cutting insisde from the left wing, but it's not enough to trouble Lyon's back-four.
Bouma sweeps Govou off his feet. Literally, not in the wine-and-dine, home-for-a-coffee sense. No booking for Bouma, who reminds me a little like the boy who used to bully me at school. For the record, bullying isn't big or clever. Remember, people who wear spectacles have feelings too.
Reveillere clips a cross in towards Govou, who had drifted in from his usual position on the right wing, but the ball is a touch over-hit and Gomes comes out and claims.
PSV have fairly dominated this half, but haven't had any real chances to speak of. Lyon, if anything, look much the more dangerous; they break at pace and with numbers.
VoH finds the ball at his feet in the penalty area after a deep PSV free-kick, but his first touch is heavy and Lyon hoof clear.
Diarra up-ends Park as he breaks over the half-way line. No booking, to the disgust of Van Bommel and Cocu, who make their opinion known to the smiling referee.
Great play from Lee down the left, beating Reivellere before laying a pass in to Park. In space on the edge of the area, the PSV midfielder attempts to curl a shot in to the top corner but succeeds only in skying his shot well over the bar.
The atmosphere inside the stadium is fantastic, the best I've witnessed since going to watch Bob Dylan at the Wembley Arena in London a couple of years ago. Gee whiz, that little old fella has still got it, hasn't he?
With Abidal off the field receiving treatment, Van Bommel sends a corner in towards VoH, who heads well wide.
Abidal lies holding his face on the lush green turf after getting his head in the way of a thundering Park drive from 30 yards.
PSv have plenty of the ball around the half-way line, but they can find no way of pushing forward. When Ooijer attempts to slide a ball in to VoH, it's cut out with ease.
Farfan holds off a couple of challenges as he cuts in from the right wing. He lays the ball out to Cocu, but his cross from the left is easily cleared. PSV need more quality on their delivery if VoH is to take advantage of his height advantage.
Slick passing from Lyon but they can't quite work the ball out wide and PSV break. Moments later, a sloppy pass from Vogel gifts possession back to the French side.
Great turn from Wiltord in the corner. He beats his man and sends over a dangerous left-foot cross but it's cleared by Alex.
VoH is booked for a lazy challenge from behind on Cris. The striker was clearly frustrated at the earlier challenge on his captain that went unpunished.
Van Bommel gets a boot in the, erm sensitives, when Diarra leaves his foot high in a challenge. It was certainly a booking in my eyes. And I have commentator's eyes. And wear spectacles. That makes me doubly perceptive, readers.
Cacapa stays alert to cut out Cocu's through ball towards VoH, but the big Dutch striker is adjudged off-side anyway.
Lee and Park are a good combination down the left wing for PSV. Again they combine before a ball is slid in to Farfan; his first-time flick to VoH is too weighty, however.
Bouma plays Alex in to trouble inside the PSV penalty area. With Wiltord breathing down his shirt, Alex is forced to prod out for a corner.
Farfan wins another free-kick, this time from Diarra. Van Bommel stands over the set-piece, Alex heads goalwards but it's straight at Coupet.
Govou is flagged off-side out on the right wing. He hasn't managed to get in to the match as yet, but he's a very dangerous player and will be used a lot on the break by Lyon.
Reveillere fouls Park on the left wing. Van Bommel sends the ball in towards VoH, but Lyon head clear.
PSV are doing a good job of trying to get themselves back in to the tie, spreading the ball wide and attempting to get in behind the French defence.
Van Bommel finds himself a little space 30 yards out and cracks a shot over the bar. There's a big weight on his shoulders tonight. Mainly because his head must weigh 20 pounds alone, and that doesn?t include his hair gel.
Abidal fouls Farfan on the right win and is perhaps a little lucky not to get another yellow card. The free-kick is taken short, but Lyon are organised across the back and see off the danger.
Fantastic link up play between Juninho and Wiltord sends the Frenchman through down the left once more. Wiltord's attempted prod in to the path of an on-rushing team-mate is intercepted, however. Great football from Lyon.
Wiltord breaks down the left channel and almost cuts a ball back to Malouda. Gomes is up to the task however, and dives to cut out the low cross.
Bouma, attempting to make up for his earlier mistake, cracks a left-foot shot from distance. It flies well wide. I can see Lyon scoring again tonight, especially as PSV try and force the pace as they push for an equaliser.
Abidal is booked for a foul on Farfan, but PSV can't capitalise on the set-piece and the visitors clear.
It was a fine strike by the former Arsenal striker, but it was poor defending from the home side. Firstly, Bouma's header was weak and secondly, Alex should have tracked Wiltord's run.
GOAL! A lofted cross in to the box is only half-cleared by Bouma, and Wiltord sprints on to the loose ball and cracks a low shot through Gomes and in to the net!
Incidentally, the only way we could go in to extra-time and penalties would be if the score finishes 1-1.
Vennegoor of Hesselink is towering over the two Lton centre-backs. PSV will be looking for him from every set-piece, and hoping to get on the end of his knock-downs.
It's been almost four months since Lyon lost a game, in all competitions, so they must be full of confidence. They are struggling a little to get a grip on the early stages here, though.
What's that I hear you cry? ?Stat me hard, for I have sinned? So be it: 1) PSV have lost their last six European quarter-finals. 2) Eindhoven is the Netherland?s fifth largest city, and has a population of around 208,573 (the last time I counted). 3) New Malden in Surrey, England, has the largest concentration of South Koreans in the world (outside of South Korea, obviously...).
Park receives a pass from Lee down the left, and wins a throw from Reveillere. Van Bommel eventually clips a ball in towards Lee, but the cross is over-hit. Good start from PSV.
Essien gets his first meaningful touch, breaking down the right, beating the full-back Lee and firing over a dangerous low cross that Bouma does well to clear.
There is currently some light rain in the air in Eindhoven, which is making the ball skid off the turf at some pace.
Park darts on to a deflected cross and Coupet has to be alert to snatch the ball from the South Korean as he attempted to bring it under control.
As 'Big' John McCarthy always says at the start of a UFC title bout: "LET'S GET IT ON!" We're off. Lyon kick off, and boot the ball out of play. So much for the 'classy brand of attacking football' they are so renowned for.
Both managers have selected the same starting XIs from last week's game. Will Lyon - top-scorers in this year's competition - be able to improve on their lacklustre performance in France eight days ago? Stay here with me, and find out...
We're all set for a very interesting night in Eindhoven, with PSV grabbing that vital away goal late in the first leg.
