- 80'
Joe Cole's low cross finds the only defender in the box. A third goal would be unfair on CSKA
- 79'
Zhirkov makes a mazy run into the corner but doesn't get his head up and Makelele steps in to take the ball.
- 78'
Good defending by Bridge, as Moscow push bodies forward. Can Cole and Gudjohnsen hit them on the break?
- 77'
Terry clears majestically. He has shone tonight.
- 76'
Zhirkov forces a corner on the left. Cole on for Duff, who has been as quiet as any other Chelsea player. A night he'd rather forget...
- 75'
Henry has just put Arsenal 2-1 up...
- 74'
Ah, at last! Joe Cole is soming on for Chelsea. Surely he can make something happen?
- 73'
Chelsea are doing their best to keep the ball in the wet conditions - it's fairly plain sailing at the moment. Moscow's heads are dropping.
- 72'
Lampard. Loose pass. Throw in. Sums up his night. Hasn't happened for him.
- 71'
Semak off for Krasic. Semak has played well, in my opinion. That means CSKA have made all their substitutions...
- 70'
Nope, the free kick doesn't get past the first defender. Lampard took it, he has looked off colour tonight.
- 69'
Free kick to Chelsea, Duff did well to win that. Terry?
- 68'
Laizans wiggles into space but his shot is blocked
- 68'
Ouch. After a poor touch from Semak, Makelele hammers the ball mailiciously into Laizans. That was nasty Claude, say sorry.
- 66'
Poor corner - should have aimed it at that goal-scoring machine John Terry!
- 65'
Chelsea are leading 2-0, but they are playing poorly. No sign of any further goals. Although here's a corner to Chelsea...
- 64'
Gudjohnsen releases Smertin but his deep cross evades Damien Duff. Should have done better.
- 61'
Tiago comes on for Kezman. Very disappointing night for the striker. It looks like Duff will be pushed forward to accommodate Tiago in midfield.
- 61'
Substitution for CSKA. Vagner Love off for Dadu. I thought the lad was playing well, but hey I'm not the boss!
- 57'
Bridge's deep cross nearly reaches Gudjohnsen but Berezoutksi heads clear. Chelsea are really flat tonight - I wonder if the Mutu drama is having an effect on the other players.
- 56'
Aldonin forces a good save from Cech who saw it late as the ball came in from distance. The corner is poor and Chelsea get a goal kick. Cech is playing brilliantly.
- 55'
Kezman loses his patience and picks up a caution for a double footed lunge. That's not the best way to solve your goal scoring problems.
- 54'
Duff lets the ball go out for a goal kick, but the ref gives a corner. Oh dear Duffer! Luckily for him the corner is cleared
- 53'
Terry can't quite make contact with the ball and it flies out to safety. I say put him up front, he's class up there!
- 52'
Chelsea corner - they scored from set pieces in the first half...
- 51'
Zhirkov's running is pulling the Chelsea defence around, but as yet there is no real cutting edge from the left winger
- 50'
It's worth saying that Mateja Kezman has hardly had a look in. Tonight is the perfect opportunity for him to notch that all-important first goal
- 49'
A lovely move by CSKA results in a wasted cross by Semak. Symptomatic of CSKA's play so far - they have looked good going forward but havent been able to supply any end product.
- 48'
Cech skews a clearance widly out of play as the crowd chant Tiago's name. Is he the man to liven up the Chelsea team?
- 47'
CSKA are looking to get on the front foot straight away, just like they did at the start of the first half.
- 47'
Semak fails to make the most of Damien Duff giving the ball away o n the egde of his area.
- 46'
Gudjohnsen exerts some early pressure on the CSKA backline but they ball is cleared.
- 46'
Its a cliché, I know, but the next goal really is crucial in this one - as I'm sure you can imagine. CSKA kick off.
- 46'
The teams are ready to go back into battle- let's see if Chelsea can step it up a gear? Or perhaps CSKA can somehow turn this one around?
- 45'
On reflection, the scoreline is harsh on CSKA moscow. Cech is having a blinder - that save from the deflected corner was really something special. CSKA aren't out of this yet, but Gudjohnsen's goal has made it very hard for them. Chelsea haven't really got going - Mourinho will be demanding a lot more from his talented side after the break.
- 45'
Couldn't have scored at a better time really - after an indifferent first half showing from Mourinho's men they lead 2-0 at the break thanks to headed goals from Terry and Gudjohnsen. Chelsea have ridden their luck - but CSKA have a mountain to climb if they're to get back in this one.
- 45'
Well CSKA have lost me my imaginary bet, but CHELSEA have scored a seond goal!! Duff flights in a lovely ball and lax marking allows Gudjohnsen to bury his header from 2 yards out. Great cross, great finish. 2-0.
- 45'
We're nearly at half time - and Lampard has won Chelsea a free kick on the right. I'll put money on Terry getting on the end of this one...
- 44'
Free kick is blasted over by Ignashevich. Shooting from 40 yards might not have been the best option there?!
- 43'
Chelsea's umpteenth counter attack fizzles out after a shocking pass from Gudjohnsen fails to find Lampard. CSKA's organised defence will gobble those up all night long.
- 42'
World class save from Cech. A strange deflection from the corner is going in the goal until Cech makes a great double fisted save. Superb reactions - he's kept Chelsea in the game there.
- 41'
Zhirkov is wonderfully denied by Gallas when trying to pull one across the face of goal - but Moscow opened Chelsea up there.
- 40'
Vagner Love nicks the ball from Claude Makelele but it flies over the bar after a deflection off the Moscow striker.
- 40'
First yellow card of the night goes to Rahimic - I think?!
- 38'
Smertin, Chelsea's own Russian, spanks one wide from 30 yards. Should have passed, really.
- 37'
Ha! Guess who got on the end of Lampard's ball?? Yep - John Tery. The Chelsea's skipper nods just wide, but it's close. Who needs Drogba?
- 37'
Free kick on the right for Chelsea. Here comes Terry - can he do it again?!
- 36'
Aldonin's ambitious ball is easily cut out. Bar the few chances we have had, and the quick start by CSKA, this game is becoming increasingly mundane.
- 35'
Gudjohnsen loops the set piece well over the bar. Mourinho looks on - he's not happy with that one!
- 34'
Smertin goes down under Berezoutski's challenger. 30 yards out on the right hand side -is this Duff territory?
- 33'
Cech did very well with that swerving free kick a few moments ago. The Chelsea midfield are losing the battle in the middle of the park at the moment.
- 32'
Bridge blocks a shot from Aldonin. Chelsea are coming under sustained pressure now.
- 31'
Cech makes a flying save from an Ignashevich free kick. From forty yards out he hit it with some power. Beaten out to the left hand side, good save.
- 30'
Ferraira concedes a corner but it's easily dealt with at the near post. This game is there for the taking at this stage..
- 29'
Duff is barged over by the Nigerian Odiah. From the free kick Duff sprays a sweet ball along the back of the box to none other than John Terry - who is popping up in all the right places for Chelsea. He shows great technique but hammers the ball just over with his left foot.
- 28'
Terry is is fouled by Vagner Love moments before Zhirkov hammers the ball in. The players had stopped though - no real controversy there.
- 27'
Free kick to CSKA on the left. Can they conjure something out of this?
- 26'
A combination of the greasy surface and Gallas rob Vagner Love of the ball on the edge of the box.
- 25'
The players get a breather as Semak's head is bleeing heavily. He goes to the touchline to receive attention.
- 24'
An early change for CSKA - Carvalho must be injured - it's a bit harsh to take him off so early if he's fully fit! Laizans, a Latvian, is on. The 600 or so fans from Moscow are urging on their team.
- 23'
Lampard nearly squeezes Duff in, but a good sliding block by Ignashevich clears the danger. Chelsea are applying some pressure now.
- 22'
Lampard is well marshalled and cannot convert a Smertin cross from the right. The defender makes a timely intereption and the ball goes back to the keeper, who clears.
- 21'
Gudjohnsen can't get past his man on the edge of the box after a promising run. Zhirkov fires over from way out. The match has settled down now, it's gonna be a tight midfield battle tonight methinks.
- 19'
The ball skims right across the six yard line and finds its way a few moments later to Semak. His shot is well blocked by the Chelsea defence - another corner.
- 18'
Corner to CSKA Moscow, who will look to throw their big men forward into the box.
- 18'
We're getting news that Ljungberg has put Arsenal 1-0 up - looks like it could be a good European night for the English teams!
- 16'
Needless push by Smertin on Aldonin. Free kick in a crossing position for Moscow.
- 15'
No real action to speak of as the early goal looks to have killed off the early spark of CSKA. Chelsea's attackers are trying hard to latch onto any through balls.
- 13'
Duff is making some clever runs - he looks well up for it this evening. Smertin is also looking dangerous on the right...
- 12'
The 18 year old keeper Akinfeev is quick to nip the ball away from Gudjohnsen's feet.
- 11'
Lampard's fizzing left footed drive flies wide of the goal after some sloppy play by the Russian defence. Chelsea look keen to add to their lead.
- 9'
John Terry is prolific in the Champions League - it was a firm header that hit the back of the net. The Moscow keeper really messed up the cross, but nevertheless a vital early goal for the Blues.
- 8'
1-0 Chelsea!! John Terry nods in Gudjohnsen's knock down after the keeper makes a total mess of the corner. Terry is absolutely lethal in the air! Mourinho punches the air with delight.
- 7'
Paulo Ferreira's cross goes out for a corner. Chelsea are beginning to get the ball down and stamp their authority on the game...
- 6'
Duff turns into trouble instead of pulling the trigger. Chelsea's first sight of goal.
- 6'
Gallas does well to break up a promising Russian break
- 5'
We shouldn't be surprised with their start to be honest - they are right at the end of their season, with 4 games to - and their sharpness is already showing at this early stage.
- 4'
Chelsea are looking disorganised - another corner after some good possession. CSKA are doing well and there are balls flying around the Chelsea box.
- 3'
CSKA have started very well indeed. Carvalho (of CSKA not Chelsea) fires in an angled shot which Cech has to beat away for a corner.
- 2'
Vagner Love turns and gets his shot away but it doesn't trouble Cech. Chelsea will need to watch out for the young Brazilian - he's got something about him.
- 1'
A long ball from Bridge sees Kezman bring down his marker by the corner flag. He must be desperate for a goal or two to open his Chelsea account.
- 1'
It's Chelsea to kick off - and Frank Lampard immediately gives the ball away.
The teams are out on the pitch. Can Chelsea put an indifferent few days off the field behind them with a confident performance? We'll soon find out.
There's no Didier Drogba for Chelsea tonight as they look to bag another three points in the Champions League. Their opposition, CSKA Moscow, have links to Roman Abramovich and are no mugs on the football pitch either - having knocked Rangers out of the qualifying round... 5 minutes to kick off.
Join us live at 19.45 BST as Chelsea face owner Roman Abramovich's other football club CSKA Moscow.
